The car has high vacuum at idle. Where you'll lose vacuum to the vents is going up a long grade. The load will make you push the gas further to maintain speed and the vacuum drops. The reservoir keeps the vacuum on reserve for a situation like this. Otherwise you might find the air going from the vents to the defrost up long hills if it is removed.

Me too, I believe the horns can be moved forwards and up alittle and then move the canister from its underside location to the side.

Alright, I looked last night and didn't see where the other end of the vacuum hose is supposed to plug in at. Can someone who has it still hooked up please take a pic of where the other end of the hose connects?

Well I took the front bumper off last night do start devising a way to fit the intercooler in there and I found the vacuum line that goes to the reservoir tucked up inside the horn wires. So I plugged it back in. Guess I'll relocate it then. I'd still like to know where exactly the other end of that line goes to. If someone could post a pic that would be great!

Got my mock up pretty much done as far as the tubing goes. I did relocate the reservoir as shown below. There is a little cavity that is perfect for it
