Boost question My 422 will be rady in a week or so..just a question for all you boosted guys..It a 422 with 8.9:1 CR. How much boost on pump gas..93 octane can I run? what kind of HP levels should I expect?Thanks in advance

Re: Boost question You could try running 10-12#'s and go from there. Everyone's combo is different and only track and dyno testing will tell you what's best for your car. I would think with a proper tune with your 422 and 10-12#'s you'd be looking at 600-700rwhp, depending on how it's set up. Keep us posted.

Re: Boost question My car is a boosted 415 CID, 9:1 compression, so I am pretty close to you and I run a single turbo. I am running out of injector so I am topped out until my new 57 lb/hr injectors show up. Currently at 8 psi with the 47 lb/hr injectors my car makes 509 rwhp and 611 rwtq, I have no problem running pump gas and have had zero knock issues to deal with on a very safe tune.
With the bigger injectors and new tuning I think it will easilly pull 585/630 still at 8 psi. We will retune the car to support 14 psi, I would think it could see the north side of 700+. For normal driving I will keep boost down to the 6-8 psi range. The big motors seem to make big torque numbers and spool the big turbos pretty quick. Mine spools at 2000 rpm and reaches full boost at 3000 rpm, incinerating the tires in the process

To answer you gas question; with a proper setup yoiu should easilly be able to at 8-12 psi on 93 octane all day long with a good tune.
