we ran into a couple of things with the 1200 HP car, another of which is the trans torque limiters. I just went through your posts and it looks like it is hitting one of the limiters. We had a '98 car with an '02 PCM (auto) and we were running into this as well. The more power you make, the sooner it will hit the limiter. Also, the stock PCM can only read 255 kpa or 288 (PCM hard limit) in that year I believe also (I will have to check) Just because you set the dip to 315 doesn't mean it will read it necessarily... the throttle body is definately a problem also if it is a stock GM one. It will put it in limp mode before the scan tool catches it... (been there, done that) You may also want to try the colder plug (at least a 7 or eight) and pull the gap down to .017-.020.

yep- it's definately going into power reduction- look at your log from the first page- throttle posistion is 100%, and all of your other ETC pids are down to 8% desired or on their way down to 0. This is either from a torque limiter or the throttle body closing. It the t body throttle position and the APP vary at all, IT WILL PUT IT IN PR MODE IMMEDIATELY. Try it once- take the intake plumibing off and push the pedal to 100% inside the car. Have a buddy tip the t body closed with his finger on the outside (KOEO it will even do it) and it will PR. Look no further til that is resolved. Try to turn your t body upside down and see if it makes it better/ worse, or steal a buddies aftermarket one (we used a TPIS) they have a MUCH stronger spring. Beautiful set-up BTW.

Definately try a tighter gap. I know you said it was blowing out even at 7psi, which would be odd; but just one more thing to eliminate. On cars running near 20 psi I always run gaps in the .018-.02, 7's or 8's.

So are you guys saying that with F-bods 1100-1200 rwhp is no issue because there are no throttle controls?

Nick,

Is this the same trans I talk with on couple years ago? If it is, glad to see that it's holding up for you.

Did you ever get this resolved? I broke my tranny before I could finish testing mine so I was just wondering if you ever got resolved. I was hoping for some inside info before I start trouble shooting.

Thanks,

Kane
