Default Are ported heads worth it on F.I. engine

Hey guys
I'm debating on wether or not to go ahead and port my heads
I been in contact with Jay from absolute heads to get my 317 6.0l heads done
he said he can get 310 and 244 repectivly with the 6.0l heads
Now I'm wondering if it's going to be worth and power to my setup or a waste of money that i could use somewhere else ?
my combo is a 6.0l block bores .030 over with diamons pistons and eagle rods also an f7 futral cam
Any ideas guys ?

I would go with the ported heads. Stock exhaust valve wont hold up to the heat as well plus you can push more cfm per pound of boost.

Cheers,
Chris

Sounds like it will fly when done!!

I had a local porter work the heads. He does LS1s but he is the man at LT1s. Then a shop did a radius valve job, installed Ferra 2.02 valves, stock exhaust valves, comp springs, and titanium retainers. They also did a cleanup cut to make sure the surface was good.
I hate building motors, it takes to long. Also the last E-mail I got is not wanting to load, can you send it again.

johnathan, i would just get some manley 1.55" exhaust valves, same size as stock but much stronger and no machine work is required. or maybe even z06 exhaust valves would work???

If the heads are off the car and you can get them ported affordably, why not?
If the heads are on the car, in the car, NO, unless you are increasing the CC's to lower compression.

If you decide to go through with it Jay is a good person to deal with. You won't be disappointed.
