Keep the boost the same, take 2 degrees off the timing... and then don't do anymore 5th gear pulls! Any gear under a 1:1 ratio is going to make your engine work a shitton harder which obviously builds up a lot of heat and starts detonating like it's cool.

Nice numbers though!
What fun is that??

I wonder how long it would have lasted with 12-14 degrees of timing.

that thing was Bad *** the day I rode in it. I could only imagine how much faster it was with the extra 100hp. How did you keep those tires hooked up?

We have had one at 735 to the tires at 15psi for a while. Only race fuel though and 14degrees.

I would have blown it up anyway with C16, just would have kept pushing and pushing until it blew.

I've locked down another stock longblock. I'm going to back down the tune (just the timing really, the fueling was fine) to where it was before and possibly add another methanol nozzle. I don't want to mess with a motor build as I am blowing the dust off my trans am and plan on getting it to the track in March.

Thanks for finding the limits of the stock block Conrad.

Any idea how much power it picks up if you ran 13-14 on timing vs. 18-19 at 13-14 psi?
