newb turbo Q
on most turbo's, their's a external mount for the wastegate.. but on most setup's i've seen here, you guys are putting your oil feel line there.. Where would you put the wastegate? I'm trying to get my whole setup figured out and that was just one of the things I was curious about.. thanks

Depends on if you get a turbo with an internal wastegate or not. Most use an external gate that is mounted near the turbo's turbine side (hot pipes). It can either be vented to the atmosphere or back into the exhaust.

in this photo, their's a 'diamond' shaped flange for a wastegate... right? but most people use this for their oil feed line. This turbo is a master power T70. would it have an internal wastegate?

Wastegate would go between the manifolds and the turbine housing (on the hot side). The wastegate is what controls the amount of exhaust gases the turbine sees coming out of the exhaust manifolds. It controls this via a loaded spring and diaphragm inside the wastegate housing. When the exhaust gas pressure reaches a certain point, the valve opens allowing exhaust gases to bypass the turbine of the turbo. This bypassed gas will either be vented into the air, or back into the exhaust stream out to the muffler/cat back/cutout...
Here is a very simple diagram:
Hope that helps.
