Question Procharger getting quieter

My D1SC has gotten quieter, is this normal or is it a sign something is wrong?

An ATI ProCharger will get quieter as the straight cut gears get broken in, this normally occurs in 500 miles or so. Bob

I noticed when I was still on stock shortblock and 9spi my D1SC was pretty noisy @ idle. With my new engine combo the procharger is cranked up quite a bit higher it is considerably quieter @ idle.

It sounds like you have added just enough load to the blower at idle to where the gears stay meshed, eliminating the marbles in a jar sound. Bob

I'm glad to know that it's normal, I knew it wasnt my hearing since I used to be able to hear it idling when it was sitting in the garage.

Yeah mine did get a lot quieter after I flushed out all the metal shavings out of the gear box. For and F1 it sounds like a P1 LOL!

How much quieter? Maybe your belt came off?

Seriously, that's interesting. My D-1SC whines like a tiny jet engine and it has about 9K miles on the head unit.

I have the lovely rattle at idle... I think because I have the "robust" original J bracket and the "awesome" 6-rib set up. Usually good for some boost loss up top. You can almost count on it.

If I lived closer to EPP, I'd probably just drop it off there and say "call me when you have done everything that ATI should have done originally".

8 rib conversion - check!
4.5" intercoolers - check!
ATI Superdamper - check!
crank pinning kit - check!

empty wallet - check!

Otherwise I love my car.
