turbo/environmental question
turbo air temp. question? i was talking to a guy and he said turbo's can be finicky when it comes to weather. more alone the lines of turbo's not running properly when the air temps are to hot or to cold...
any truth to any of this?

weather may affect it some if you have a speed density tune. As far as IAT's go, naturally they go up some when its hot and you may see some loss in power, but nothing crazy. You will also feel more power on cold days.

If he isnt, then you wont. Thats what air temperature corrections are for.

when i read this thread title, i thought it was going to be about a turbo's "environmental impact" or some other tree-hugging horse plop like that.
with that in mind, i stopped in just to mock what i thought was a hippy. Perhaps change the thread title and u will get many more responses, as people may be skipping this thread thinking it is a thrad along the lines that i thought as well.

Yup, living here in Canada I can relate this as far back when I was a young lad with my first ever truck! Eclipse GSX, turbo'd and modded really liked the cold winter weather. Got great traction too with the AWD until I parked it for the winters after the body kit, but no more rice and my T/A sits in my garage for the winter. Would never do that to it, LOL Its not so much that the cold days are awesome for this, its more like the really hot days suck!

x2 hot days suck.... my car would run hella rich during the summer months when it gets 100*+ out here....
