Unhappy Another pulley question??? Need Help

Well I will be done with my cam change this weekend. Going to have have the car tuned in the next week or so. I would like the car to make between 8-10 pounds of boost. My car has the D1SC on it. The S/C has a 3.70 pulley on it now. Car shows making 4-5 pounds of boost now. I believe mine is 6 rib. After I get home I will post which one it is.

Which pulley do I need to achieve the boost I want?

Which belt for it?

Where to buy the tensioner pulley? Mine is worn out.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

SBP

if your running the procharger 7.65 pulley you should be seeing a whole lot more than 5 pounds, more like 13-15 psi. on a stock motor a 4.5 pulley will make 8-10 you must have some major belt slip issues or leaking boost or something. is it a stock motor?

With a 6 rib you are more than likely slipping. You might need to switch to the Procharger 8 rib assembly or go with the SDCE set up. Bob at EPP can get you a good price on the Procharger 8 rib assembly.

It sounds like you have the 6 rib pulley assembly, which is equipped with a much smaller crank blower pulley. With no coffee yet this morning, I'm thinking it is 7.0 in diameter. I just heard the other day that ASP makes a 8" diameter crank pulley for the six rib kit, which combined with a 4.75 to a 5.00 blower pulley would give you the boost you're looking for. Bob

How much to change it to either setup? Which one is the better way to go?

Thanks,

Can't find any other setups online. Maybe not looking in the rite place. Does the SDCE have a website? Not sure what company that is.

Also what company is ASP? Tried calling Procharger today, but the guy I spoke with wasn't much help. He wanted the part number of the kit installed on the car. It was on it when I got it. So not much help from them.

Thanks,

SBP

To swap to the 8 rib kit, you are going to need this kit.

You will also need this balancer and pinning kit.

To make between 8 to 10 psi you're probably need a 4.25 blower pulley with the eight rib kit. Bob

Yes but don't you have to supply the bracket for SDCE to modify? I'm not sure but I always thought you had to. Bob

Yes you are right Bob. The j bracket has to go to SDCE for mods. I know I sent them mine.

yes you do have to send it in, but if there close in price I would go with the sdce setup, its been proven over and over again (by me too) to eliminate belt slip at high boost levels. also Bob and his crew have come up with some pretty slick methods as well over the last few years. I would give him a call and see what he suggests. maybe they can figure out the f body 12 rib dilemma. that would be cool to

The crank pulley on mine measures 6 inches across it. The pulley on the supercgarger is 3.70.
