Default Blow thru carb baseline dynos

The motor runs !!!! lots of tuning issues!!!!!.. but in all good day here are some quick specs

well first off ran on 110 oct. gas for break in. Not E85 which the setup it built for.

not one full pull was made due to MSD not retarding timing thru the MSD 6010 box so we stop pulls at 10.5 psi and about 5200-5500 rpm..

base line numbers
697hp@5400
656tq 4k-5400 rpm

there is alot left in it. these numbers were at a super rich 9.6-1 AFR LOL
ran out of jets for the Alky carb!!!!!!

Keep pushing it.I would figure 1000hp on the engine dyno with this setup.

It will be pushed!!! the map reading for the boost retard was reading 43PSI @ zero psi so timing was going crazy once the boost came in. we tried to mess with it but i need a new map and maybe a new msd box. i would say 1000hp is going to be in the 17-20psi range. it was gaining about 40hp per psi we raised it. and the TQ number i think is low due to the fact we could not hold the motor on the water brake with 13.5 psi it just took off could not hold the load and that was @ about 4k rpm.. this water brake is rated for 800ftlbs.

Nice #`s, can you give specs of your engine combo and what carb/hat combo did you use. The reason I`m asking is that I have a 6.0 long block that I am going to change pistons and add ARP rod bolts to for a 95z that I picked up cheap. I to am building a blowthru turbo setup and was wondering how to resolve the timing issue, I was looking to run up to 15 to 20 psi. Post up and let us know how it turns out, great thread.

def some rich afr's, but better than the other way-when i did a dyno pull on a procharged b/b, i saw some big hp gains after starting out in the 10's, then pulling out some jet, but i gave up some hp to keep it safe (i had already blown it up once)
i am building a blowthru lq4 in my 69 now, and using the msd box-i havent gotten into the retard portion yet, but i thought the retard lead needed 12 volts to operate-i have always used a hobbs switch to trigger the retard on other engines (when using dig 6 boxes) i generally set them up to make contact around 6-8 lbs, and wire in also a light (or use the oil pres idiot light)
so i know the retard is working-i will read up again today the insts. since i am wiring things now

Ya the timing issue is fix due to the msd box getting interference from the coil packs via ground . the map sensor got messed up from that as well unless i just got a bad one from gm. I got more jets and some helpfull tips from the carb guys. i would say a easy 800hp is doable with the 10.5 psi its at now and get the afr right on and run some good 7K rpm.. as for set up its a P.C .carb blow thru E85 carb with a slowhawk cam. i also plan on running 15-20 psi

i have a question about map sensors-i assume its supposed to be like the old dist. vacume advance-i dont know what the 1, 2, 3 bar stuff means, but i pulled one off my ls6 intake, and the msd plug fit it, so i drilled/tapped a port on my vic jr intake and installed it-how do i know if its the correcy one for the msd box-thanks

got the timing issuse fixed !! sounds reals nice and boost comes in 500-1000 rpm sooner but burnt out wide band sensor so no pulls were done but 15 psi @ 3500 rpm sounds mean! well driving 8 hours for the E85 and going to make the real numbers our dyno only reads to 800 ftlbs and got that at 3300 with 11 psi so it time for the engine to go it the car. more updates later once the baby comes
