Rearmount ST80 is up and running
It spools pretty well too considering it is an 80mm turbo with a 3.4" turbine wheel with a 1.00 a/r mounted 18 FEET away from the engine. It has just enough lag to allow me to hookup on the street with hoosier drag radials but comes loose around 90-100mph. I haven't been able to take it over 6000 rpms due to the lack of traction from 90 on, car gets a bit scary and the 2-3 shift doesn't happen until 125 mph. The data log shows me spooling up from vac to 12psi in about 1.2 sec from a 3500 rpms roll in 2nd gear, the first .6 sec of that is spent getting it to 2psi. In 3rd gear at 70 mph (2700 rpms) it reaches full boost by 80mph so it has good top gear passing power (3rd tops at at 190mph) lol.
I don't know if I would reccomend this as a rear mount turbo for a 6spd car. Maybe with a 408 and one size smaller a/r on it. For my car this is about as much lag as I would want with a street car. Some people migh consider my setup a bit laggy and it probably is compared to a good standard setup, but it's on the verge of fighting for traction as is so I don't know what faster spool up would accomplish. I without a 2step I can pre stage the car and leave on green at the track in less than 4 seconds so it spools a lot better than most 10 sec GN's i've seen.
I'll try to get some pics of it tonight for everyone that wants to see the clearance.

The 80 is indeed an animal, before i melted the heads and gaskets it really was something to behold on the street runs i made. Insanely loud like a jumbojet

I don't know how it's supported at the moment, haven't looked at it. It was previously supported by the exhaust pipe, the intake and the down pipe, I would assume this is done the same way.
lol
