Default ST80 spoolup videos as requested

Same video, no music

Suck it Ninetres

Several have asked for videos of my new ST80 turbo in action, so here is some of my car while testing on 13psi on the highway. According to Jose this turbo doesn't get into it's sweet spot on my motor until 15-16psi. Goal is to run 20psi at the track.

Spoolup is a bit slower than the T76 .96 a/r I had on here but power seem much greater on this turbo so the trade off was worth it. The spoolup is just slow enough to allow it to get traction on the street.

Hopefully I'll have some more vids in the near future. My friend who built the car wants to run me with is 170 hp Busa on the highway. Thinks it shoul be a good run since they both should trap about the same.

WOW, Very nice!

What pistons and rings are you running in your 370?
From the looks of it that car has been holding up like a champ!

Set of used 4.030 diamonds I got used for $200 and a $200 set of total seal rings. Rods are Eagle SIR 6.125 I-beam SBC rods I picked up for less than $250ish. Stock crank. Been running this setup for 2 years now.

I'm a cheap bastard.

Wow, whats the best dyno numbers to date?
Are you running stock heads as well?
Thats amazing, who says you need a 4k engine to hold power!
Very impressive to say the least, congrats on everything!

What times are you looking for with this new turbo?

Sorry for all the questions but your setup really intrigues me!

Stock LQ9 heads (stock valves) with springs of course. Doesn't take a lot of money into an engine to hold power, the tune is the absolute most important part.

Dyno numbers on the old 76 are pathetic, but dynos are only for tuning. Best SAE rwhp was 534 (520 uncorrected) but the track MPH (134+) says i'm making 720 average to the ground so we were guessing it probably was close to 800 rwhp peak on 19-20psi. Never got to run it after swapping to the .96 a/r housing, but it did pickup 800 rpms of power band and hauled serious ***.

I'm hoping for mid 9's out of this as full weight+ street car.

I want to see you and mr_president get your cars back and running again.

Stall is a vigilante 9.5" made as tight as they can make it.

The downpipe is all 4" with a 4" bullet muffler.

This muffler works awesome at keeping the noise down, eliminated all the turbo whistle too. I love it.

Mr_pres

He is 1/2 way through parting his car out! He might get back in the game later, but not for a while. Mine will be getting broken-in in a couple/few weeks. I'm gonna break it in with the 76mm, then add the meth and ST80 after ~500 miles for the full tune!

I like the whistle tip sound
