Default Installed 7psi Bov Spring, now It Stays Open!

Im running a tial 50mm bov. It originally came with an 11psi spring. It was too stiff and wasnt opening properly when i let off the gas. So i installed a 7psi spring that works great now driving around town.

My only issue is that now when im just sitting at idle its slightly open and makes a hissing sound. Im assuming this is now a vacum leak. What can i do?

It is normal for them to be open at idle...where is the BOV in relation to the MAF (or are you speed density?)

If you are speed density, don't worry about it - if you still have a MAF, you should have the BOV before it - which means it will be fine if it is open.

On the procharged cars, they drive around with the 'blow off valve' wide open in anything but boost, so it is not a big deal...also, all the cars we do that are turbo, it is normal for the Tial to flutter at idle.

if you have a set screw on top of the bov you can screw it down.

Okay that makes sense. I just wanted to make sure that it isnt going to cause a vacum leak at idle. My understanding is that it wouldnt because the part of the bov that vacum is applied to would be totatly sealed. Is that correct?

MECHAM,
This bov does not have any adjustment screw.
