Default Any fast 67mm ls1s out there?

Just curious to what people have ran with a 67mm in a full weight f-body.

I know there are about 1 billion different setups but if you are running or ran with a 67mm on an ls1 f-body post up.

I did run a 67 ......in a light weight but full weight 99 camaro it went 10.7's I think(a couple years ago)....but was short lived. Its on video somewhere, of it breaking the turbo. In slow motion you can see something come out the exhuast (rearmount) hit the ground then take off across the track sparking. It was the turbine and the broken shaft.....A few days later a 76 went on, 10.5's and 6's right away, then it went 10.2 on a decent tune up.

Thats not bad. Im looking for mid to high tens with my setup. Should have the tune completed in a couple weeks. Before i ran out of fuel i was at 480rwhp at 44oorpms. That was unlocked on a mustang dyno with a 9inch. Im hoping for about 550rwhp. My main issue is that the car is probably about 3750lbs.

I think it dynoed 553.....with the 67, but it was done, over speed and just to small. I think it was on the 10 bolt on the dyno but it ran with a 9 inch and 3.00 gears. Oh it had ported heads, and a z06 cam. 307 cfm at 600

This was just a starter turbo kit for me. As soon as Josh at Kentucky Turbo finishes his kit that keeps a/c im switching. Im thinking of running a 76-80mm this time.

No track times but the car makes lots of torque across the band, a 347 running at 11 psi with methanol. If I had it to do all over again, I'd go with a T76, though, because I think I'd only be a few hundred rpm later in spooling and get 100+ rwhp more. Oh, well.

With your stalled auto and a T67 at 8+ psi you should see tens, I would think.

It's the PTK/PTS kit, I do not recommend them...

If you are in the market for a new turbo I suggest buying a new TC76F1 for 1099 dollars from Forced Inductions they are a sponsor here. You might have a hard time getting ahold of them on the phone, but they have to deal with the whole world since they are a world wide distributor, but they have the best prices on turbos and when you in fact do get ahold of them they have great customer service. Jose and Dr Turbo are great guys.

Id like to get the 76mm. But im not sure if my kit was really designed to flow that much air. Ive read the QMP kit was only designed for about 550hp. I think im going to be past that the way the car is now.

I'm thinking that your downpipe is the most power-limiting element... what's the diameter? And what's the air inlet/filter setup?

The down pipe is a 3inch. The cold side is now all 3inch with huge fmic. The turbo has a 4inch inlet but i could only fit a 4 to 3inch intake tube on it with a big k&n.

While bigger would be better on that downpipe, I'll bet there are some guys here pushing over 700 rwhp out of a stock cubed motor with a T76 and a 3" downpipe. And a 3" cold side should not be restrictive in this setup. Do you have any specific info from QMP on why the kit is supposedly ~550 rwhp?

QMP went out of business along time ago. The was the old Rob Raymer kit that was basically an upgraded tti street kit. I think the general idea was that the log was to small to support alot of exhaust flow. And on the original kit the cold side was 2.5 or 2.25 inch with a small intercooler. If i could find a good deal on a 76mm it wouldnt be a big project to bolt that on.
