Anyone had Ignition Delay?
The shop I am at put an ATI S/C on a Vette and there was a problem with the ignition start switch. When you would turn the key to start, you would have to hold it there for about a second before the starter would turn. After installing a large in-tank fuel pump, the problem went away.
Now they have another ATI on a 422 motor and there is a 2-3 second delay before start. A bigger fuel pump didn't fix this one. It almost seems as if fuel pressure needs to build up before the start function works.
Has anyone run into this before? Solutions?

Re: Anyone had Ignition Delay?
The pump has to come one to bring full pressure up to the rails, after a certain amount of time say three second (thats what it seems like) the pump shuts off. If you have not got full pressure by then your regulator is leaking and not holding pressure. Which means the fuel drains out of the rails. Mine was doing this on a stock regulator. It could be simple as a busted o-ring or a completely bad regulator. Same thing can happen on aftermarket regulators. Also there is a check valve in the end of the pump, you can get similiar problems, but cars usually start. Put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and see what the pressure is you know right away if its no fuel pressure.
