Default garrett equivilant to S91???

I was curious if garrett makes a turbo that is the same size physically as the S91. I have an OFI kit and may have a hook up to get a garrett but want to make sure it will fit.

physically should be close to the GT42

Kyle dropped in a S88 in direct replacement for the GT42 he tried. I believe the s91 and s88 are same physical size

the turbo on the left is the S91, The turbo on the right is supposed to be identical in size to the GT55

That is correct. The GT55 and GT47 are much larger units. The S88 and S91 are very close to the GT42 and GT45 frame. As for power the S91 and GT55 will be very similar with the S91 spooling faster.

Damn, and I thought the S91 was big. I guess you could always mount the FI 91x above the hood. Mad Max style.

Some little birdies on the board have FI-X units coming to them. You will see some BIG numbers soon.

I don't see 1500-1600rwhp #'s be far off. The FI-X units flow stupid amounts of air from all the testing done and some of our beta guys out there, and they spool ALOT faster then the conventional thumper.

Same as GT55 frame. We did our best to try to keep them as small as possible.

So the FI91x and FI88x are the same physical size? Thanks for answering all my questions.

I have heard of the cast wheels having problems and they say that you need to run dual BOV's with that turbo also. I think the billett wheel ones have been pretty reliable. Looks like precision is doing a decent job with their stuff. Kolivas with his mod motor with an 88 has supposedly already gone in the 7's on BFG's.

Spooling with a smaller engine may be a little harder but i think more tuning can help that out.I think the tradeoff is worth it. No other single has even come close so far.

I have seen two 114's break locally in the last few weeks...and they both broke on the first pass or two. One was a billet wheel, one was a cast wheel. The car I installed the cast wheel 114 on, I also installed a second BOV. Didn't seem to help

As for 91's, Our shop car has went 7.79 @ 181-184 on radials with a box stock GT55-91.

Impressive on the GT55-91. Which car is your shop car and what series does it race in?

Looks like they still have work to do on the 114 unit. Wonder if T-Netics has their 114 out yet and how reliable it is? I havent heard much about them.
