Question About Pulley On Vortech V9-G
I am going to be installing my vortech v9-g on my car this weekend or next and am wondering what the stock size pulley is that comes on it. Is it the 3.125 that is currently on it that gives you the 5-6 pounds or a different size. Also I am stock minus exhaust and am looking to have 7-8 pounds since I have read that is safe on our stock block and now I am wondering what pulley size would produce that? Also is there any company that produces after market pulleys for the vortech v9-g.

Thanks, it came with two pulleys and the other one didn't say its number on it so I will have to measure it. It was a metal or polished one and not a vortech pulley afaik.

Well I emailed vortech just to make sure bc I remembered the guy I bought the kit from saying my other pulley made 12 pounds and it looked like a 2.75. The vortech guy said. The stock pulley on the 98-02 F Body non-cooled kit is a 3.70". this kit makes 5-6 lbs. on a stock engine. The stock pulley on the 98-02 F Body after cooled kit is a 3.12". The after cooled kit makes 8-9 lbs. on a stock engine.

Play it safe and start with the 3.12" pulley. There really isn't an exact science to tell which pulley will give you exact boost mumbers. Save the 2.75" for if you ever decide to change the cam or put headers on the car as you'll most likely see a drop in boost. Right now, mine makes just over 7psi with a 2.65" pulley.
