Default supers... maggie? procharger?

hey yall. i am looking to throw some boost in my 04 gto and i want to know what is the way to go for supers. i love the way the maagie looks, but the procharger adds more juice. looks aside, it seems the procharger adds more go, which is obviously most important. suggestions? thanks.

Do alot of reading then decide. I'm going procharger myself. Lots of people like the low end of the maggie but I prefer the top end myself.

Most people will tell you to go with a procharger because "it can make more power". Which is true in that the procharger has more boost potential. You have to look at what is best for you, the maggie is nothing to laugh at. Are you going to be adding a forged shortblock, will this be a drag car, street car, autox car, or a combo of each? With out the addition of a forged bottom end you will never see the potential of a procharger anyhow. The maggie makes great down low power and under the curve. With the weight of a GTO this would get you off the line. I am going FI with the Z06 and have decided on a maggie, since my car will see mostly street time and I do not want more than 600wrhp it fits my bill.

Harrop makes a TVS R2300 kit for GTO's

magnuson just make 950hp with the R2300 TVS

What do you consider "top end"?

Centrifugals dont make boost till the top end.. and the old 'maggies' arent nearly as efficient or can flow as much as the new stuff.. sooo i guess you'll need to do some more research.

everyone here with an F-body is biased because there are VERY few positive displacement cars and TONS of centrifugal cars... #1 reason..its very hard to package on an F-body.. a GTO is a TOTALLY different story.

yeah, i am looking to have consistant, streetable power. i am not looking for crazy low ets. yet. that and i dont have the funds for a forged bottom end.
