What is a mock-up supercharger?

I found a supercharger that is a mock-up vortech supercharger, what does it mean when it's a mock-up?Is it a replica that works just like the real thing or is it just a replica that is just for looks?

companies sell mock up engines and bolt ons, to help people design parts of their cars around them. Pretty neat idea imo.
