First APS TT system in the 9's!
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I am glad that I decided on a TT kit that will outperform my goals for my car for years to come, but nice that it has the power to do it, if I have a motor/drivetrain to handle it.
Ryan
I plan on having a 427 in it.
What suspension parts you running ? You have a cage, subframe connectors ?
Congrats on the run by the way !!!
ANYONE know how much HP these cars can take befor you need a cage ?
as for the gear part I am running 1/10 slower in the 1/8th mile than JM with 4 pounds less boost (8.5PSI) and a 3.50 gear with a 28" tire. My car is full weight ++ I have not removed 1 single thing to make it lighter. I think that if you read back you will also see that he thinks he already has enough back pressure at 12.5 pounds of boost.

BTW, WTF were you racing against? Jeez, I had a 4-cyl Mustang convertible in high school that ran faster 1/4 mile times than the 21.xx car you raced!! I want to dyno my car a few times at various boost levels and will track it but no rollbar ever so if it hits under 11.5 they will for sure kick me off they are strict. There is one place though that isn't and might be able to run there.
So are you going to up your boost then Darren and will your track kick you? At under 10.0 I thought you needed full cage not rollbar and medical and bunch of stuff.
Oh also not sure how you can tell there is too much backpressure at 12.5? I would think the turbos should be able to put out around 800 rwhp on an auto anyway or about 850 rwhp on a manual. Guess we will have to see as more guys get the kits on their cars and try for the higher boost numbers. Nice to see they have the upgrade turbos now if a person needs them.
Using a bit small turbos is a common trick for factory turbo cars. You sacrifice a bit up top and some power of course too but you gain lower spoolup and broader power band. That is usually more important on a street car. Big turbos can get laggy. Have quite a bit of turbo experience from my dsm cars. Have a pretty huge turbo on my 97 talon.
Powerband is about 3000 starting boost to about 8000. Not bad but might swap down on turbo size to get starting boost at 2000 so powerband is wider. But also would be giving up 100 hp potential. I think in another 5 or 10 years we will be able to have way bigger turbos and super fast spool up. Next big thing in turbos will likely be magnetic bearings, no need for oil or water cooling and they will spin up super quick with magnetic bearings. That will truly be the golden age of turbos.

I will be hitting a 1/4 mile track pretty soon so we will see. I don't know if I will get kicked off or not. Both local tracks that I go to (Rockingham 1/4 mile and Moorsville1/8 mile) are pretty lax on safety on street car nights so we will see.

BOSS APPROVED!

congrats!
