video - TTi-X kit, 2K C5, 9psi, 140 MPH stock bottom end!
TTi-X kit hot parts, H/C and stock bottom end, 9psi off the gates, th400 trans. Right-click and save-as: http://www.lsxtune.com/vid/randy.wmv
Hey guys, the owner of this car doesn't take any time on the boards to talk about his car for the most part, but is always reading, so I thought I'd share some background on it.
This is Randy Robertson's (1a-play)'s 2000 C5. He bought the hot parts from TTi for their X kit and the ball bearing turbo's as well. He fabbed up the rest, including a dual A2W IC system. The car had some boost control issues, so he pulled the turbos and ported the gates.
It was originally a 6 speed car, but he wanted a th400, and he did all of the work to get it in there as well.
The engine is a stock bottom end LS1 with EPP's "FI" cam, and Kyle's old large chamber heads.
The video was shot during the National Corvette Challenge at Richmond Dragway on Saturday May 10th, 2008. The first two passes were leaving (as seen) basically off idle. There was a Pro tree as he was really just shaking down the car during the 10.0 class HU race. The last pass was the only launch made under boost and it was 2-3psi off of the foot brake. The car has a trans brake but it isn't hooked up yet. It is also running 9psi off of the gate springs. The low MPH on the last pass was him on the brakes, as the other car he was running had previously run a 10.01!!

Bob sent out a nice cam and Steve@ lsxtune.com made it run so well, I'm sure it would have been a 9.7 @14x if I wouldn't have gotten off the gas- it took me a couple of runs to figure out how to build some boost off the line

I had a great time at the track on Saturday and was really pleased to see Randy's car run so well. He's put a lot of hard work into it and I'm sure he's glad to see it pay off.
Now, get that brake hooked up and make all of that 10.0 safety equipment obsolete
