no cats, it does smell just a little. you could put a catted Y pipe with the cutout in front of the cats

I am doing the APS kit and am struggling with this too. I was thinking of just doing a cut-out until I can figure out what I want to do. Can you imagine how much HP I would lose with the stock exhaust????

But, I could tune for the cut-out..... or just get a MagnaFlow and be done with it. I am so worried about getting true duals because of the ground clearance issue. I would really like them to come out the back too.

I will stay hooked up here and see how it works out for you, thanks for sharing!

If it is done right you will not loose ground clearance. I still have 4 inches at the lowest point on the exhaust and I could of picked up another 1/2 inch with oval tubes at the front.

Jon, I had my exhaust done at a shop pretty local to you. They did great work and used flanged or band connections so I can drop the exhaust without having to cut anything. Pics are in my APS install thread.

Mine is a custom 3" Y into a 4" over the axle that Y's into 3" outlets with bullet mufflers near the tips. Flows well and sounds good. And yes you can her the turbo's just fine. You KNOW when they come on boost.

No cats here and yes I get that fuel smell sometimes. I will probably add high flow cats back in eventually as I DD the car and don't need to smell like that when I go into work. But they were not in the budget when I had the exhaust fabbed up.

My car is already at the shop getting tuned so i cannot have something fabbed, need to pick something and have it shipped there................

We can sure fab it for ya, just its not free labor

A decent catback with a stainless Y is the better deal.

Default Hooker Y & Corsa or CME

Im gouing with a Hooker Y pipe as many of you have stated ,it bolts right up to the APS down pipes and was thinking of selling my SLP CME and buying a Corsa Cat back!!! Im just thinking of changing up alittle by going to the Corsa either 2 4" duals or the dual duals LOL!!Any advice guys?

From what im getting he's looking to buy somthing to bolt right on to his APS Correct??Well,Thats why I bought a Hooker Y pipe today because alot of you APS guys said it mounts right up to the APS down pipes !!!I guess ill know for sure tomorrow, Wont I ? LOL!!!I cant wait for my build to be done LOL!!Its not even fun anymore I know it will be worth it when im done though!!

I am going to start with hooker ypipe no cats and have street pro cutout before my B and B triflo. I will see what kind of power I lose open and closed cutout and may try open downpipes to see what that gives if feel its necessary. Sometime things like comfort, lack of resonance ,sound volume,etc are also important in a street car.

When I finally do mine in a year or so I'm gonna go with an ORY with a street pro 3-3.5" Cutout in the I-pipe just before the axle and a GMMG catback.

This is the cutout I'm looking at this time instead of the QTEC's, more of a throttle body actuation so there's no hold the switch until you think it's open all the way.
