FI engine build (800 HP), required.
within my budget), which I'll disclose only to him
and hopefully we will agree and it'll be the first car EPP helps building which is located out of the states and will be making a big CABOUM being one of few birds here (only five V8 birds in the whole country I guess).Bob,
I'm checking all of the project cars on EPP's website, so, give me a couple of days and I'll start PMing you, (slow internet connection
) OK. One more thing, when I bought the car from the states the owner of the car had a couple of suspension upgrades that he purchased from SpeedINC and didn't have the chance to install, so, I bought them from him (I'll send you a list of those) to try to figure out what do I still have to buy to complete the supension build.Again, Thanks everyone.
My stock 5.3 w/ just 6L heads on it and a n/a off the shelf cam on 15psi and pump gas makes around 600. If I ever built a decent shortblock and got some real heads and a cam made for it.....850whp is a breeze. And wouldnt cost 1/2 what you said.
3100$ AFR Heads and the cam
9500$ for my procharger stuff. I got a lot of upgrades FMIC F1A Big Bypass valve ect
1500$ fuel system
2500$ rear end
2000$ suspension "so far"
1500$ Wheels/tires
1000$ clutch and drive shaft
500$ Meth kit
1500$ Full exhaust
500$ Misc appearance stuff to make everything look nice
2000$ Safety stuff-Cage ect. I can't weld
2000$ Wideband o2, Laptop, EFI Live
500$ triple guage pod with electronic fuel pressure guage ect
750$ Tune-yes, I'm still going to pay to have a shop tune it even after buying everything to do it myself.
500$ for MISC stuff I've had to buy while installing everything
= $35,450
I'm not saying you can't do it cheeper but that is a rough estimate of what I have or will have in everything and that is not counting all the mistakes I made where I had to buy the same part twice... I have pretty much everything listed. I just haven't gotten it all together yet. You come to realize the price you see on a websight for an item usually isn't what you will end up paying by the time it is all said and done. With a little more planning I'm sure I could have done it cheeper but it is very expensive to do right.
Oh yeah and to the OP- I bought most of my stuff from EPP. Bob and his crew are very helpful. It seems like they are always busy but they have a good rep on this forum for a reason.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Bob
As other said 800rwhp is going to take some serious wallet. I had 620 with the last setup & it was plenty for the street, but not enough for me. I'm hoping to hit 850 with the new setup that I just got on the road last weekend. It basically consists of:
Forged 408 (Mahle coated pistons, Z gap rings, Eagle crank, Callies H beam rods, EPP Stg II cam, Morrel lifters, Comp Pro Mag rockers), Stg III 6L heads, Vic Jr int, Procharger F1-C (20+ psi), SDCE tensioner, EPP FMIC, Kooks 1 7/8 lt's, all port matched.
You can easily hit $10k on the motor, $7500 on the turbo/blower setup, and another $7500 on supporting parts (fuel system, tranny, rear end & suspension parts). But hey, if that is what you want to do, it's your money. And EPP is a good place to get it all done, even tuning....

WAHUSKER, I really like the way your WS6 looks, and hope your build hit the 800+ mark. Mine is also red but it is 2002 model I hope I can get their myself

Thanks Meado, I need to post some pics & a video now that it's running. This EPP cam almost reminds me of a top alcohol car at idle. It drew lots of attention when I started it at a car show on Memorial Day. I can't wait to stick my foot in it & hear it sing.
