Yes. We just changed to 316 wire and welded it up. It has such a heavy wall that it welds very nicely. G

We are thinking of trying to do it on the really cheap with a junkyard 5.7LS and 2 ebay T70's (yea, the ssautochrome junks!). We have most of the spare parts already. If nothing else it will be a good test bed for ideas good or bad. G
That 610 is going to be cool. Hope it doesnt blow up to fast, i wanna be able to enjoy it for a few hours anyways!

Interesting build. Personally I would have cleaned up the engine a bit when it was out before putting in all that time installing everything.

LOL! yea she wants it gone for sure! Took it for a rip up the street. Goes good. Drives like an 02 f body till the boost comes it. Pulls like a freight train even at 8 psi.

so would this build be any easier if you go with an auto?

I'm starting to mull around with the idea of doing this... head cams 2v is just boring and not producing any power...

what were the major issues you ran into on this?

with the megasquirt does it still retain ODBII?

It would definately be easier with an auto. The major issues with this build were converting the ford TKO500 to work with the LSx based motor. If you used an auto like a th400 or a 4l80e (would need floor massaging for the 80) then there are no issues with clutch linkages pilot bearings etc. The megasquirt does not carry any OBDII stuff. We still have to retune the ford PCM to take out the DTC's for the engine side and still run the emissions for the fuel tank and such. If you used a stock PCM you could retain all of the OBD stuff and still tune for the turbo.

That is just awesome work guys. My hats off to you all for taking on a build that like. Sure wish I had the resources to pull that off myself.

We are in the process of putting up a new web site. Domain name issues with the old one. We are hoping to be back up on the web next week. If you have any questions you can ask me here or ask forcedinduction on this site as well. He is the other half of the shop. Or you can still go to www.giffinperformance.freeforums.org and see all of the build and such.
