Default How much boost for a 9:1CR 402?

Just wondering how much boost you guys think I run with 9:1 CR on 93 octane on a twin turbo 402?

The project is in the build stage right now and I'm trying to pick turbos and a cam. Anyone got some good cam specs for a turbo engine of this size? I plan to use ported LS3 heads.

Thanks for you input!

The cam specs will greatly affect things.

Thanks!

Yeah....I'm having a guy at comp spec a cam out for me. Then I'll try to figure the dynamic CR to see how much compression gets bleed off.

Are there any popular turbo cams out there for the 402?

I used the MTI-R1 cam with a procharger and the tuner said, it bumped me up 80 HP, comparing it to other cars with similar set ups. I'd reuse it but I'm not sure how well it will perform with the bigger engine and those heads. I think I need a little more lift.

Contact Patrick G on here, he'll spec you out a cam. He has a turbo car and he knows what he's doing....$25 for cam specs from somebody who knows.

What turbo are you running?

I'll probably be running two Garretts with 57mm inducer diameter and probably .48 A/R.

What A/R would you suggest? .60? It's mainly just a street car. I'll have to check my maps again.

Thanks!

yeah maybe a .68 if it's a streetcar and you never plan on getting close to maxing the setup out. If you're after a little more power maybe a .83 or .96 in a 60mm.

pozesd99 looks like a fun ride!

What's your static CR and do you know what degree the inlet valve closes at ABDC? It should be on the cam card.

Thanks!
