I looked into a cog setup when I first started putting my setup together.

Bottom line, the cog was going to cost me about 1500 bucks and it was going to be a one-of-a-kind setup. Neither of which I'm a big fan of.

With the cog there came quite a few complications as well, bigger Bypass valve etc....

IMO, a properly tensioned 8 rib setup with a proper size crank pully (read: BIG), and a sturdy blower bracket, we should be able to spin these things to the moon. Why not, everybody else does without doing wild on the belt setup....

If it were me, I'd run a 8" crank pulley, and I would pin it.

I would look into getting a custom tensioner setup from Chris. Chris is going to be looking at BigBos' D1 setup next week and might be coming up with an ATI-specific tensioner setup.

Cogs can run $1500 and the belts are as I mentioned in the $80-100 range. EACH.

A chain drive is even more fancy. Imagine having to break-in the chains. I have no idea what they cost, Ron Duke has a Harley Pro Mod bike chain drive on his black TA ragtop. That is a very fancy and expensive setup.

I like the idea of a 8-rib setup. If i have slip with the MMS pulley and 3.85" blower pulley I'll try the sd-concepts tensioner and see how that does. Thanks for the help.

I can't wait to get my bracket issue fixed w/the car, I want to go WOT so bad....

Just standing over the blower and looking at the pulley, when I rev the motor with my hand w/the throttle body I can see the pulley move a good amount, and thats not w/a lot of load on the motor...

I feel though once Chris takes care of everything the 8 rib is going to do the job...

chain drives are so hard on the blowers' bearings that the only blowers ATI will make with the chain drive is the much larger F2-F3 series

Like prostock said, I run a 8.5 inch 8 rib crank pulley and 4.50 blower pulley and my F1 is fine. Lets see how it does with the 3.60 pulley and 22 psi.......

I've given up on trying to make an 8-rib work on my YS-trim, changing to cog.
Stealth good move on ditching the 8-rib.The only one to get one to work was Scott ws6.If I was you I would be looking at the chain-drive real hard.You have a extreme combo and will have headaches with a cog too.Relative to the coin you've already spent it would be a cheap upgrade and WILL WORK.Screw ******* around with the rubber bands and the accompanying PITA.I want to see what this car will do.I'm look forward to lining up with you next year at one of the events.My combo is taking longer than expected.

That Cog system looks awsome.
Now that is a reasonable price! Looks like a quality
part too. Now tell me, why isnt this a good setup for
a car trying not to have belt slipage? Also what kinda of effect will this cog setup have on the street? Cause
when I get to have my 348 done. I want no belt slipage.
Also my 12psi. There has to be a good solution for this promblem. Also a turbo isnt one of them. When I bought my
ATI there were no good turbo kits out. It was when Icon Twin turbos were going out of buiness. People werent getting parts and were really pissed off. ATI just came out and was getting all the praise in the world. It look like a clean setup and is. I love my ATI system. I just dont want to be limited to my boost. So lets get a good solution.

I would contact Vortech directly or ask around with some of the serious supercharger racers locally and on the net.Ronnie Duke has a chain-drive on his ATI F1R and it worked to the tune of 8.60s.If you look real hard I'm sure you'll find something.

Ronnie Duke's chain drive is off his TA. When it went 8.60 it had a 50mm wide 8mm tooth belt. The chain had too many problems.
