There is an upgraded valve stem you can get to stop that.
Or you could run a JGS 40mm gate it fits into tighter spots also.

I heard about the other stem, but I was pretty dismayed that I wasn't told about it up front after describing it's application.

I got my turbo smart 38mm [race gate or pro gate or something] which I can't seem to find on their site anymore, and turbosmart megasonic BOV from Jose at Forced Inductions. http://www.forcedinductions.com/product5.htm

My [unused] lo-boost setting is basically on the spring, and I see a little less than 8psi on it with the gate dumped back into the exhaust. I'm just saying that because I was worried it may not have been enough gate, but it was fine.

ModularTurbo, where are you guys at in NC?

Monello,

How'd that drill work out for you?

As far as the valve in the WG, just call up tial and order the black stem. If you run race gas through that WG, the lead will corrode the stem and it will become frozen.

Nice buildup so far Monello, Where are you drilling the oil return at? In front of the oil pan or on the timing cover? I would like to see pics of oil return if you mind. Thanks in advance and get that beast finished all ready so we can see it running...... lol

You CAN do it while its on the car, however its a smarter idea to take it off so that you can make 100% sure that no shaving enter the oil pan.

With that said, Ive tapped many oil pan's while on the car and never had one issue. The trick is to take your time, use LOTS of grease (bearing grease will suffice) between the flutes on the drill/tap to catch all the shavings. When your tapping it, try to make it through with out backing the tap if you can, this will lessen your chances of pushing shavings through the drilled hole. Another trick Ive done is once your done tapping the hole, take a large magnet and run it along the sides and bottom of the oil pan towards the drain plug, then change the oil. (obviously your going to drill and tap on a empty pan, so in efforts not to waste new oil, save your used oil and run it back through the motor, then do the magnet trick).

Hope this helps

Soooo we painted the cold pipes tonight. They look awesome! Went to Ace hardware to buy some bolts and nuts to attach the oil feed and oil return brackets.

The oil feed is connected. But I dont know where to drill for the oil return. I took a picture of the connectors that I have and just using the connectors, its already too low. There is no way to have a down hill slope.

Fellow PTK owners, can you take a pic of your oil return setup. Please =(.

Thanks

you are probably going to have to use a scavenge pump, then if you do that you can just drill into the front cover!

So you have the oil feed plumbed?

I will say this... On the Buicks the oil return was always a 1/2" hose going into a boss on the front of the blocks right under the intake (into the lifter valley). Don't know if that is possible with these or not. Let me see if I can find a pic

Any location lower than the turbo should be fine. With this kit I don't know where that puts the turbo though. Some people with Buicks plugged that spot off and ran it into the pan though.

No problem, I thought that you had purchased a special magnet that I may need to get as well
