Default Rear mount guys. Has anyone thought of this

I was looking under a camaro today at work thinking about my car ,and how I was going to run the oil lines for the turbo .

Being I was thinking of running a hard line for most of the feed I notice I could just cut the evap line that runs to the rear and just attach -4 an line from each end to the block and the turbo . I mesured the lines inside diameter its slightly smaller then a -4 line but I think it will work great .

I think this would eliminate any issue of the line hitting soemthing and dumping all my oil . Has anyone done this ? Dise anyone see any issue ?Also what size an return line should I use ?

Sounds like a plan but fix lines on parts that move alittle is no good. The concept seems good but in every day conditions I dont think it will work.

Thats why on both end it will be a short line of stainless braided -4 an . With slack for the movement

Oh ok sounds better. But the feed comes from the plug above the oil filter so it will have to under the exhaust to mount to the rail. Should be a trick set up. I think it will be sweet now.

Well I would cut the evap line somewhere behind that fitting above the oil filter so the line would run back towards the rear away from the exhaust .

Another issue I was worried about was , do you think the hot oil will heat the brake and fuel lines its right next to, enough to cause a brake fade issue of that sort

Especially with the STS. My buddy had to go to a -10 return with a badass Weldon oil pump to keep the turbo from blowing seals.

He was running a ball-bearing 78...But it's not much different than the stock STS turbo as far as oil flow goes.

He blew the seals twice on the dyno with the stock return line they provided(and the stock sts oil pump). Then the turbo was rebuilt again and he went to the big return setup, and it ran great(until the tuner wrecked the motor).

I think thats a great idea. I dont think you will have any issues with heating up the brake fluid. I used the evap as my return line for my budget fuel system.
