Default garret a/r 1.39 hot side - go or no go?

I'm recently working on an engine swap. The engine is a 5.3L silverado motor.
Buick transmission with a 2800 stall converter. Now I got a hold of a garret turbo, pretty big I would say. it s a model TV8513 and I can only read the hot side and it says A/R 1.39. Now with the 5.3L engine and 2800 stall automatic converter would I be able to spool this turbo at all and if I would what would be the proximate rpm. Now yes i know this is not my correct match for my engine. Well aware of that, but the turbo was free and why not it looks cool. I don't mind lag and I don't need boost in low rpm. So please help me out. This is to all the experts on this site.

Turbo is brand new and could be very much for sale if I can't spool it.

You won't spool that sucker. The turbine wheel is HUGE.....around 109mm or more.

why not get a smaller hot side to put on it? and you could always put a small shot on it to spool it

... there is one guy that I saw he had an A/R 1.23 on the hot side and he had no problems boosting on a stock motor. Are you guys just guessing or somebody has experienced something similar. I need to know before I make this turbo a decoration for my garage.

I concur with Dr.Turbo. Even if you can spool it, you will not be satified with the performance especially after the sweat and toil required to custom turbo a vehicle. If you are wanting to use that turbo because you are on a budget, I believe that you would end up later down the road purchasing another turbo to replace it in order for the car to perform properly. Which in turn will require additional work and money in order to modify the setup for the new turbo. The moral of the story is......"sometimes trying to hard to save money ends up costing you more money"

Pull the housings off and measure the wheels. That unit comes off a Detriot Diesel, I can tell you it will NOT spool fast at all. Also smaller A/R's are hard to impossible to find as most of those units are no longer made.

I dunno who would buy it. I 'm willing to trade it 1 for 1 too.
