Default Uh, so..which charger..which cam?

I figuered i'd post this here since the supercharger is my main question with cam coming in second.
I have a 98 TA and have no intention of building the bottom end. I want this project to be very streetable. Although it will be taken to the track a little. I would like about 600HP to the wheels out of my set up when all is said and done. I have the mods in my sig and will be ordering a fast 92 with tb soon. The rear end will be a 9in with 4.11s and i'll have a clutch to handle the power of the SC. I had plans of buying a MS4 with stg. 1 LS6 heads from Texas speed but how will those work with something like a maggie and if those are my combo will i be putting out my 600 goal. Or can anyone give me a combo of what would work. My budget isn't huge and im a complete noob when it comes to SC, especally when i'll need a cam that doesn't eat power. Can you guys help me out?

A 112 will not get you there with any heads or cam, a 122 will though. As far as intake, you do not need one with the maggie, it replaces it. Heads I would stay stock and go with a GT2-3 for a maggie with dual springs. Spend more of your money on the fuel system then a set of heads. I would keep it at or around the 500-550whp mark if you want the bottom end to live for a while.

Do you know which sponsors on here sell maggies for pretty cheap? And what size cam do you suggest for his set up? I mean would the MS4 work or is that to big?

Too big, it just won't work well with the blower. We sell maggies here but not F-body specific kits. There is a few threads on here somewhere if you look around. We can help you with the cam, springs and tuning though.

D1SC 13psi, (226/232, .570/.575, 114 LSA) with typical bolt ons and basically stock 803 (98 casting) heads on a 8.5cr 402 = 600rwhp exactly through an auto... Not real hard to do, but of course the longevity of the shortblock is going to be considerably shortened and the tune better be dead on. As TJ said, set your sights on 500rwhp... That seems to be the bump where stock bottom ends start getting unpredictable.

Alright 500 should handle most of the people around here. I was just really settin my sites on a 550RWHP 04 cobra a guy i know has..he's only been beaten once from the locals and i was hopin to be the one to pull it off but i dont have the funds to build the bottom end then supercharge on top.

Oh...cheap..it'll get expensive no way around it. Start saving now to build another block on the side. FI is never cheap.

LM speed sells a maggie kit, as does MTI both are sponsors and both have links to the right.

I would rec' a Procharger D1-SC set up though, bob@epp has some great packages put together for those wanting to go FI.

If you can drive well and you make your suspension work, you can beat him with 500whp. Like stated above, be prepared to spend money on a rotating assembly down the road.

how reliable is that blower cam in DD usage and long trips though. it looks to be a more aggressive cam than a normal smaller blower cam (LPE GT2-3)

Long trips and such I would stick with the GT2-3 as it make good power esp. in the 500whp range. I am sure the EPP cam would do ok though, just not as friendly.

And if youre gonna go with the GT2-3, then you might as well go with the 02-04 LS6 cam because its basically identical and $140 less.

I don't think the ls6 is ground comp lobes lol, the GT2-3 is a little better even thoug the duration and lift numbers look the same.

I know that but lets see some dyno numbers. I dont think there is gonna be a huge difference between the two in a FI application. I'd save the $140 and put it towards something else.

Me too, just throwing it out there some people are bent on using after market cams. I love the way the Ls6 cam works in a 500-750whp turbo setup.

233/244 .578/.602 on a 115lsa when I was procharged, wasn't rowdy at all and that cam was daily driven.
I have a LS6 cam now, seems to be a great turbo cam

I would go with ECS Supercharger Cam, Procharger ( 8lbs.) and a meth kit. That should put you ahead of that snake.
