106 turbo questions
106 turbo questions I've been thinking of doing an lsx swap in a g-body for awhile now. Looking for some serious power. I just happen to find a complete kit. Headers, turbo, wastegate. All the hot parts anyway. It's a single kit with a PT 106 "F" trim turbo, tial 60mm gate & a 5" to 4" downpipe.
I would like to stay hyd. roller if I can. Would like to run in the 8's with this combo. Prob. around 3300 lbs with a turbo 400 trans with brake.
What would the ideal displacement & recommended heads? Should I go solid roller? Will a nice big air to air be sufficient or do I need to go air to water? LSX block with ETP heads? or ???
Any ideas or comments would be helpfull.

Its going to be tuff on a hyd. motor as you need some RPM to work with esp. If the cubes are at or around 400 or less. You could go 8's on less turbo and keep a hyd. setup though.
Are the tall deck LSX blocks out yet? What would be the max cube on a tall deck turbo motor?
I've been asking around, and +/- 400ci has been the reccomendation. Folks have reccomended running an LSX block bored 4.030 so as to leave some metal for any future overbores. Couple that bore with a 4.000 stroke and you have a 408ci. As Tom/Joe/Harlan/Stenod and Steven/Josh/LMR have shown, a 106mm turbo is a mid 7 second turbo in the hands of experienced racers. Did you guy the turbo kit that Cesar had?

, dont stop at 8's! Ive always been a fan of overdoing it. 
If money permits why not keep the 106 and pick up an 88 or 91 as well. That way you could run the smaller turbo (if that even applies to an 88-91 lol) and see where that gets you then step up to the 106 if your wanting more. Also, id say the bigger cube motor the better (within reason as you wouldnt want to bore out the cylinder walls too much). An LSX block with 400+ CI should be enough for either turbo.
