Default What magnacharger tune looks like?

My friend is debating on having a professional tune his z06. We installed a magnacharger on it and the tune that came with the supercharger. He has a full exhaust and blackwing intake. I raced him in my heads cam c5 with a hot cam and was pulling till around 110 where he would start to pull me. I think he should have way more. Do you think he would see much of a difference from a professional tune?

The tunes that come with Magnuson's kits are very conservative, both timing-wise and A/F-wise. Your friend could certainly benefit from a custom tune.

I hope so. I leave in the morning with his car to get it tuned and im hopeing he will notice a difference in Seat of the pants feeling from just a good tune. I port and polish throttle bodys for c5's so i think im going to throw one of those on it as well and hope he notices a decent gain.

My buddy bought a Z06 w/ a maggy. It had the 'canned tune' in it. It ran like crap. I logged a run and couldn't believe how messed up it was. The tuner (Doug when he was at LAPD) decided it was so messed up, he started with a stock tune and modified that. It runs like a bat outta hell now.

For liability reasons the canned tunes are very conservative. A custom tune for the car in question will always be 'better' performance wise.

I have picked up around 50rwhp on a C5 with a Vortech setup with a canned toon at 7ish psi...
