Well it looks like its time for new Drag Radials,
Now that we are making 15-17 lbs of boost on the street somewhere around 780 to the tires 1st gear is pretty much useless and second gear only hooks once in a while now, we are hooking up in 3rd gear about 80% of the time, the car just flies on the highway.
Too bad this car doesn't have a Solid Rear and weigh about 700lbs less.
Race weight before the iron block change was aruond 3900 with a 180lb driver

Wow bringing it back up, yes it still runs strong just now on E85 with no meth. It has broke the third T56 just a little while ago, so the 80e is being built now. Eric at Merchant auto is rebuilding the 4l80e and it will get a Vig converter. Should run 9's next season.

About 5k or so since last year. I would guess about 30 track passes or better and a lot of highway runs beating up on exotic cars lol. If it makes it the whole season next year I will be surprised myself. We all laugh at how great it has been and every single pass it makes is one more then I though it had in it lol.

I cannot say enough how important a good tune up, fuel and fuel system is in any FI engine be it stock or built.

I always hear people talk about a good tune, what is the definition of a good tune on a forced induction motor? Is it just common sense like safe duty cycles, ignition advance and afr's? I see guys who can make stock motors hold together and is that the trick?

I see alot of tunes that are conservative with 10.5-11.00afr, 13 degrees timing and running 100%meth, stock rev limit, absolutely no hint of KR is that considered a good tune? I mean a good compromise of power and reliabilty?

Yes and knowing how to tune with out looking for kr on the scanner goes a long ways. Every engine is different as far as what they like for timing and AFR, no two are exactly the same. You are on the right track though.

Yes! Bump lol The power you made is awesome! And inspiring the gto will fly with an 80e. I remembered reading this thread a while ago. I am going from a D1sc to a single turbo and running a stock brand new gm ls2 block, stock crank, clevite bearings, mahle h-beams, je reverse forged pistons, total seal stainless rings, comp 224 228 577 578 114 lsa, stock 317's ls6 and ported tb and all the supporting fuel mods ofcourse. Haha and l was questioning if l could make 750+ going turbo... l made 600rwhp and 520tq on a mustang
dyno at 15lbs and l thought the #'s were a little low. Although that was on a humid 90 degree day. Any imput?

If you made 600 to the tires through a stalled auto then that is respectable for sure. I am sure you will have a lot of fun with your new turbo setup too.

What's the difference between a S372 and an S472? Is it just the physical size?

Well, that seems like a pretty minor difference to justify the huge cost difference between the two.
