From the turbo towards the ic is stock STS...Bob and the boys reworked alot of the piping up around the ic. So I am not really so sure about at the front. Today driving her around on the street, she runs like a raped ape! (with wheel spin)

I know nothing about turbo's but I have a question that may sound dumb to some of you. How is it that the stock manifolds spool the turbo faster? I always thought that the faster you move air through the exhaust the faster the turbo will spool. Apparently I have somthing wrong here. Does it have somthing to do with backpressure? Sorry for the ignorance just a blower guy (it's much simpler for me, no diffrent exhaust housing or flanges or compressor housing ect..).
Thanks

It has to do with heat creating energy .

On another note I think the turbo is too small for that 408 .Definely get manafolds

For the 4l60 its sized fine, expecially being a rear mount.

When he had the gt67 from the sts kit on the 382, we pulled 720 on 14psi. But with super high backpressures. On the 408 we tried the 67mm and it had 30psi of backpressre for 7psi of boost, hence the change.

On the street like he said, the car runs hard, but its allready moving so its not bad to **** and get, but as you can see it wont spool on the line and it lags like a supra.

Damn... My setup is almost exactly like yours. I haven't run it yet though... Hoping for 10s at about the same boost.

My old setup ran 12.1x @ 118-120 with 2.0 60fts when it was on completely stock stuff at 6 psi. So with a decent short time it should have ran 11.5x or so. So yeh, I'm with you should definitely have 10s in it.

It's good to see you got the car to the track Scott! A 2 step would really help the car to make boost, and would be the easiest "next mod" to do. Bob

A 2 step would help, but it's like putting a band aid on a hatchet wound, it helps but doesn't really fix the problem.

My 2 step hasn't helped me build boost faster, but it does make it much easier to stage the car and leave consistantly though.

Agreed, if you use a 2step, you need a trans brake. When going against the brake on a auto turbo car, it needs retuned to adv more timing up to a point. Retarding timing on a 2step is for stick cars.

It needs stock manifolds with a ORY say from SLP or so, to keep the velocity. It would be interesting to see how fast it will spool with a correct setup.

But even a restall would be a night and day.

It seems logical that it would help to build boost without driving through the brakes quite as easy, guess I was wrong. Bob

Good Scott, we are swamped with work right now. My son Tony joined the army reserves, he did basic at Fort Jackson, and now is in Arizona next the Mexico border, going to school for military intelligence for five months. My younger son Jesse will be going back to College for his second year next month, he's working for me this Summer again. Jake will be leaving us in October as he joined the Air Force. We've hired several guys that worked at Lingelfelters since the last time you were at the shop.
You'll have to stop by when you get a chance. Bob

I'd shoot for 138mph at least. I went 143mph @ 3450 raceweight and 680rwhp Dynojet.
