Has anyone else heard about blocking the air path between the intercooler and radiator, so that way the only place the radiator is getting air is from the bottom, and not the air that is being heated up by going through the intercooler? I know I read that somewhere and it seemed like good advice, I just can't find it.
You could try it with a well placed piece of cardboard if you can keep it off the radiator. It might be worth trying.

We had a similar problem on this LS1/ProCharger equipped RX7.

It ran cool in town, would keep getting hotter and hotter on the highway. We put a larger radiator in it and redirected the airflow to it. Now it takes forever to get up to 160 degrees, then it stays there. Bob

I think the heat builds partially because the hot air has nowhere to go. Would removing the rubber seal on the cowl help?

Jimmy, I think what you have is simply an airflow problem. Some shrouding might help to direct the outside air to the radiator.

yes, it would help get some of the hot air out but then youd have problems if it rained. if this is a weekend warrior, go right ahead!

i think i remeber reading about a roadrace vette epp worked on having cooling issues, he took off the rubber cowl seal and it helped cool it.

No, not really. I took my cowl seal off 2 years ago and I have been in snow, rain, whatever else came up with no issues.

I had my buddy make me an airdam and a shroud for the front and sides of the radiator, so the air gets "scooped" and directed into the radiator. He used sheet aluminum and bent it. The car does run cooler now, but its hard to say how much cooler because the weather has realy cooled off as well. Unless we have another 90+ degree day here, I wont be able to know 100% untill next summer.
