Default I got my blower in!

It was a serious pain. Nothing in the kit fit(powerdyne) . I can't wait to get it tuned so I can get into the boost with it. I just took my diablo tuner right now turned the spark way down and the fuel way up. Until I get get a real tune into it I'm just going to stay off the go pedal for now.

I am with you on the this funky install. First came the loss of the power steering cooler. Bought a used motorcycle oil cooler and mounted it just behind the drivers side headlight to replace it. Installed head unit and started looking at the compressed air output piping route. No way was I going up through that mess to the existing air intake box. I had removed my air pump from the driver's side fender well, so I routed the intake there.

How much boost are you running? An easy cheap fix would be to get a meth injection kit if you aren't pushing that much boost but an intercooler would be the best. I actually thought that those kits were intended to have a meth kit as an intercooler???? You musn't be pushing more than 5psi are you?

right now I really am not sure yet. i haven't got the gauge hooked up yet ,but it says these blowers run 6psi. I want to run both meth. and an intercooler and upgrade the impeller later on to run 7-9psi.

a meth injection setup is your best route IMO. You are probably only getting 4 1/2 to 5 psi boost with the 6 psi setup. That is if everything is optimal. A good investment is a manual belt tensioner. I use the one made by Katech.

Is your blower quite loud? I'm really surprised at the sound that is coming out of this and I'm wondring if it is normal. I can really hear it at 2k rpm even though the engine is still in vacuum.

No. Mine is very low in volume. My exhaust is a bit loud so it might be masking some of it. You should be hearing a smooth increase with rpm. If you can hear any bearing noise, best have the unit checked.

The blower is coming out tomorrow and I'm putting new bearings in it. This project has not started out good.

If the blower is coming, may I suggest you get the upgrade kit for the Powerdyne. I believe the part number is D1SC Just call Bob at EPP and he can help you out.

I pulled the blower out today and pretty much all the bearings were shot or on the way out. The wrong bearings were in it. I'm glad I didn't drive it after i heard the noise I would have really messed this blower up. I rebuilt it in one day and put it back in. It seems to be right when I took it for a drive. I put it into boost just briefly and the gauge hit 5psi and was climbing fast. 7 psi should be easily attained if I gave more gas. Car had some grunt to it. Now I need to get the intercooler and meth kit in.

I am going to upgrade the bearings in my unit. How hard was the bearing swap?

Wasn't too bad at all actually. To get the one bearing to sit back in the blower housing I threw the bearing into the freezer and heated the housing up. The bearing fell right in after that. When you tear it apart you'll know which bearing I'm refering to
