Default New dyno numbers at 10~12 PSI

Well, I took it to the dyno because I was debating running it tonight, since it seemed the crank bolt was holding. On the street, I hit 10 PSI almost immediately, rising to 13 at 6700 RPMs.

At the dyno, at 132 and 142 MPH (two runs), I had to shut it down at about 6300 by tach (dyno said 6600) because my tires were growing too tall and started to hit the rear fender at the back corner (28" ET Streets). I had let the car cool down and had the best power on the the earlier run. On the second run, which was a back-to-back, power was down, but A/F ratio is more on the money. The dyno guy said, trust him, if I let it cool down, the last run would have been even higher... keep the last tune.

So, 10 PSI, almost 12 peak: 549.1 RWHP / 757.1 RWTQ , 1.02 SAE Correction.

751 RWTQ at 3100 RPMs Kenny! What have you DONE!!!

The tuner/dyno operator and Kenny (at Golden West Performance) separately told me today that my restrictive exhaust system is what is capping my peak horsepower. On the up side, I was happy to know the Hi-Z 55's were giving me enough fuel. I had to lean it out quite a bit from the street tune I'd estimated with the O2's.

Also, the dyno guy told me the extra tall tires take away a couple percent "bragging rights" on my RWHP. But, of course, getting the right A/F ratio with the tires I'm running is the important thing. I'm averaging about 18 degrees midrange and 16 degrees on the top RPMs.

With the right exhaust, at my target boost level of 13 PSI, Kenny thinks my RWHP may hit my 600 RWHP goal and RWTQ will probably not rise as high in proportion. But, my gawd! What do I need with nearly 800 RWTQ!

If there is no rain Thursday and all is still well, I will see what times I get at the track.

Thats a BMEP of 271 and 432 HP at 3000 rpm and a BMEP of 159 at 6500 rpm (I am guessing you ran the 550 hp around 6500). Looks very safe and reliable to me. 750lbs and 432 hp at 3000 rpm sounds great!!!!! I love it. Should really scream!!

It was great to see you on the dyno today, sorry we could not hang around and watch more but had to drive back up to Va Beach in this weekend,s traffic

Great place in NC to tune/get tuned at I was very happy with Jeff's tuning on my car there and glad he found the 40 so rwhp and 30lbft of Tq on my setup.

Maybe when it's cooler out I can go down and run at the track down there. Hear good things about it.

Hope you got some great runs this evening.

Nice!

You have a B&B Triflo or something? Uncork that puppy at the track get a cutout or something?

I'd dyno a FI car with the assumption that your AF at the track will be .1 leaner than the dyno, ie an 11:1 AF will be a 12:1 AF at the track under full load. Putting a car on kill on the dyno might put the car in the hospital after a few passes...

The dyno guy claimed the rollers are heavier like what NASCAR uses, and that the ratio we dialed in shouldn't have to be changed. It was about 11.4 at 6500 RPMs and about 11.7 at 5000 RPMs. I was actually getting a little richer as RPMs increased. I will have to work on that. My goal is normally to be richest at peak torque and leanest at peak hp. But, it threw me for a loop when the graph did not have RWHP rise and then stay straight as I've seen before. It peaked at 5000 RPMs and began to slowly drop off. But, on that run, I did not check the boost and it may have begun to fall back off. This motor and cam has always made max power to about 6500 RPMs, before.

It may have begun to lose power up there and get richer because boost was starting to drop at the higher RPMs.

My work is not done.

Damn thats a lot of torque. You could probably shift at 3500rpms and still have enough power to get into 10's.

The drums are 6600 lbs total. It came up when Jeff was tuning my car before you arrived. I was going to have him take one degree of timing out and add a bit of fuel to be safe on the street. But when I found out that the drums were that heavy I knew it was safe.

Mike, now I'm wishing I did a stroker kit.
Oh, well, I was kinda on a budget.
Good numbers. I'm curious to see what it all ends up doing in the quarter.
