Arrow Is there a common delay with Precision Turbos ?

I ordered a pair of Precision PT 78 GTS Dual Ball Bearing water and oil cooled turbos, with 0.96 A/R from Jose at Forced Inductions 2 months ago and I have been waiting and waiting since then.

Jose told me that Precision is nationally on backorder and have been delaying everybody’s orders.

Is there anybody else in the same boat with me? Is there a nation wide delay with Precision Turbos?

What’s the deal with Precision?

Thanks.

+1. I ordered a precision unit from Jose before. It took 3 months to get it. After about 2.5 months I called precision and they said the problem was that Forced Inductions is not a precision dealer so Forced Inductions has to go through another dealer to get it. Maybe that has changed now though? Precision said the exact turbo I bought had been in stock for months although I got the same story about national backorder. I know numerous other people have had this same issue and posted on here though.

I have ordered 7 turbos since that one and went to Precision every time. The longest it has taken to get any of those turbos was 3 weeks when Precision had to custom machine the turbo for me before it went out. Most all the other turbos have came to me in about 5 business days. If you need a reference of who to talk to at Precision, send me a PM.

The shop i deal with is a precision dealer. They usually get turbos in a couple days.

I had my gt4276 in under a week.

Could always contact pte and ask if there is a big delay?

Maybe its who you deal with. I ordered a Precision Billet 106 and got it in a matter of days. I initally called them and they told me 2-3 weeks, called Shawn @ VA Speed and got it in 5 days.

Oh and for the record, when we put twin 88s on it they will be Precision 88s from Shawn.

Looking at the website of Forced Inductions, it looks like they are a distributor of Precision Turbos.

Either way, I will contact Precision Turbos directly on Monday morning and see what’s up with the PTE 78 GTS turbos that I’ve been waiting for 2 months by now.

They are out of the HPS series wheels for the 76-78mm turbos.

Sometimes their manufacturer takes some time but the product is worth it.

The only problem I have ever had with PTE is sometimes they run out of a specific wheel and it does take some time to get it back in. Majority of the time I get a turbo within a week of ordering it.

Just got off the phone with Mike at Precision Turbos and he said that the PT 78 GTS Dual Ball Bearing turbos I ordered are 1-2 weeks out at this time waiting for the turbine wheels.

Well, that has been what Jose at Forced Inductions telling me for the last 2 months.

From Mike’s tone, it looked like he would have said 1-2 weeks out if I were to order the same turbos today.

I have this feeling that 2 months passed by for nothing.

We are WD with PTE, nothing we can do about that order. The 78GTS DBB's are back ordered and have been for sometime. Most of the turbos we order from PTE only takes a few days. These and the PT88's are behind......its just a waiting game....No Matter who you order it from.

Hey there.

That’s exactly what Mike at Precision Turbos told me today. The PTE 78 GTS DBB and the PT 88 have been back ordered for months waiting for the turbine wheels.

Don’t get me wrong. Jose is a great guy and is trying to take care of me.

The reason I posted is to see if anybody else is affected with the backorder on Precision turbos. They have been giving the 1-2 weeks excuse to Jose and me for 2 months now.

How long can a shipment of turbine wheels take?

I guess I’m out of luck with Precision. I really hope that I will have the turbos in 1-2 weeks as Precision said.

I think you all were just not a dealer for Precision when I bought the turbo from you. Precision told me you all were not a dealer. I then called Jose and he said you were. Then I went back to Precision and they called Jose to figure out why I was being told a different story. I then found out from both Precision and Jose that the turbo had been ordered through another company who was a dealer with Precision. So unless Precision and Jose gave me bogus info then that is what happened in my case. Like I said originally, things probably changed by now and you all were just not a direct dealer back when I bought the turbo.
