Differing coolant temp reading (depending on source)

Could someone who knowledgeable on coolant temps chime in. My question is would the coolant temp readings be the same or different depending on whether you take them the driver's or passenger side head? I was told different but can I get more info?

They are very close, could be exact. My temp guage is pulling from the pass head. I've checked it against the ect sensor and it was dead on.
