Default NGK 8's dumdumdum or TR6?

I've always run NGK TR6 at .028 gap for 13-15lbs boost with no issues. It was reccommended to me to run a colder plug to prevent detonation and also for better idle quality. I always thought colder plugs fouled easier and had to be changed more often but I am hearing the opposite from other people. Some people have posted 6 months and up to two year with no issues. Anyone care to chime in and share your experience?

btw, could a colder plug affect gas mileage at all?? Positively, negatively or not at all?

I've been running TR8's in various cars and they are not fouling out.
