Default PSI on motor

On a C6 Corvette, STS says its safe to run 10 PSI of boost. That seems like a lot. If properly tuned is it safe?

I don't like to see more than 8 psi unless methanol is used along with it. Bob

i dont see why not...considering the ls1 is much stronger than the lt1...and mine is doing great with 10

How is it stronger???? iron block vs. alum. block.......5 bolts per head vs. 4 on the Ls1.......the ls1's heads flow better but enlighten me on how you think it's stronger....

I'm sure they wouldn't allow 10 PSI without through testing. On the product info/dyno they have 5 and 10 psi.

well 10 PSI would be fine and wont cause a problem,but run methanol with it just to be on the safe side

i ran a D1SC 11PSI on stock LS2 and had no problems ,but i used methanol with it

Yes it is, but if you happen to get one tank of slightly watered down gas things can go boom. Back in high school I had a buddy who worked at a gas station who was directed by the owner to stick the water hose in the tanks to water the gas down so he could make more profit. Bob

oh yeah..my mistake..forgot about the aluminum blocks...i was thinking of the vortec motors with the iron blocks...i do know they are much stronger than the lt1's old school style bottom end
