Default Fuel Pressure bleeds down when priming????

I have a new walbro 255 pump for a 99-02 car on my 98, obviously the bucket on the 98 is different so the pump is not snug in the assembly. After installing the pump the fuel pressure was at 62psi but then bled down to 50psi or so. Is this normal??? My buddy has a 2000 and it stays at 62psi constant and does not bleed down when priming the pump.

When mine Warlbro's are working fine, at 62psi turn key on to prime mine will drop slowly to 55-58psi, this is normal. When I have a bad Warlbro, which has been 2 of them. The fuel pressure will drop 20-25psi on wot passes and when primed will not hold fuel pressure at all.

Well at cruise it's 63psi then at wot it drops to about 57psi, does this mean the pump is bad? Also when priming it bled down from 63 to 35ish psi

I would say your fuel pump is fine. What regulator do you have? Not holding prime is not as important as holding constant fuel pressure while driving and at wot. Is your vehicle hard to start after sitting for awhile? Reason I ask possible regulator or injector leaking a little. I really worry about my fuel pump at wot, reason I can go from 12:5 to 1 afr to 15 to 1 afr when my fuel pump will drop up to 20psi on wot.
