FICINJECTORS...step inside.
1. What is the minimum pulse width required to open the injector at various voltages?
8.7v
10.4v
12.2v
13.9v
15.6v
19.1v
20.9v
Even if you just have a 13v reference it would be a big help.
If you can step up and get some of this data, it will set you apart from the competition. Lean on the manufacturer to share their test data.
I was worried that the problem wasn't the minimum pulse, it was that you were over fueling like mad with the 120's.
That is not the case, 120's are right what you need.
I spent 3 hours on the phone with the shops I deal with trying to get some info for you. 2 had no idea really, because they don't work with injectors that big.
But Dave from random technology had some input. He stated that the big lucas isn't much different when it comes to activation time than the smaller ones.
So tomorrow I'll keep calling around and looking for you.
Lucas does not publish any info on their stuff. So I'm going by tracking down people who have worked with them before. But theyre such a large injector, its hard to find people who have experience in tuning them.
Don't give up just yet tho! I'm workin on it for ya.
Lucas needs to understand..... if they want to sell a lot of these injectors, make the data available.
TIA
One of the engineers that works with me used to work for Electromotive, and did some GM work before that. The data that you seek is not even provided to GM with the units they buy; they determine it through the course of their own internal testing.
I'm not trying to shoot this down because we could obviously all benefit from it.
The high Z disc style Lucas pieces seem to work fairly fast. Are the 120's disc or pintle? Assuming they are also disc, they should work fairly quick with the extra current afforded them in low impedance form I'd imagine.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only guy that has been obsessing over offsets

What is the minimum pulse that you could run them down to and maintain stability? Or does idle reach stoich with good room above minimum pule?
