Default fuel injection......sigh......

hi!
iv'e been having problems with fuel pumps loosing pressure or prime or something.sometimes when i'm driving normaly...overdrive stop n go ect... they loose all pressure and motor craps out. if i remove the top of the tank quick connects on the fly i can always get it to pump again..this is the third pump i'm on...the first to didnt have the help of the hot wire kit i run now... so what gives?, i have an external in-line fuel pump for fuel injection set ups, should i try and install it to assist the one in the tank and for back up? i boost 8psi currently

suggest you verify that the tank is properly vented.
Lack of a vent will pull a vacumn on the pump intake, and eventually kill the pump.
When you say you unhook the tank connections, and then the pump works, may indicate no vent....
