fuel pump issues
fuel pump issues hey guys ive been having problems with my 350 stalling and idling really weird lately. When i first bought the motor everything ran fine for about a year. Ever since it ran the tank dry by accident nothing seems to be normal. So i replaced my fuel filter, cleaned out my carb and tried to empty out the whole tank. Now when idling i have to keep my foot on the pedal and one on the brake to keep it from stalling when i come to a light or to go over a speed bump. Then when im cruising i can feel it pulsing but doesn't want to die. It only wants to die at idle and when i give it gas, the fuel kicks in and jerks the car aggressively.
I don't have a fuel pressure gauge to know if its the pump, but i think it is a sign of a replacement. The pump is an edelbrock and its the kind that doesn't require a regulator. Now does this mean i need a regulator or just to replace the pump? Is it alright to run a pump with a regulator that doesn't require one? Thanks
