Default e85 maxing out injectors..what size do should i get?

I have 42lb injector which is actually 48 or so with ls1 fuel pressure. I tried e85 on my turbo set up and it ran HARD!, but my injectors where way maxed out. Based on the inj duty cycle at 161%, what size would I need to get?
i have a turbo set up with 8psi boost

it's a little more complicated. e85 requires 30 percent more fuel, does this mean i need an injector to run at 50 percent duty cycle?

Check out http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx?...Injector_Size_
I'm not certain this will help with picking injectors for E85. But it should get you in the ballpark.

Shoot Rich, FICINJECTORS, a PM. I know they were running a sale. At the very least, you'll get some of the best pricing around.

you could get away with using 60s at 8 psi. if you plan to step up then youll need larger injectors over the 60s.

How do you figure that......maybe with gas, but not E85.

that chart shows it needs an injector capable of 79lbs a 60 at base 58 is 72. up the base pressure and you have your 79s. not mention an increase in fuel restriction will net a lower duty cycle on injectors. see how there are few ways around that? 60s have been good for much higher psi levels. i run 60s on 9psi with a 60/40 mix of 93/E85 and my duty cycle isnt no where near as high as his

now i seen this post of yours and it states what i posted saying 73lb injectors good for 700hp on E85. a typical boosted motor on 8 or 9 psi isnt going to make that much power

so with that being said what is the right calculation your going off

The injector size recommendation is @ 3 bar and compensates for the actual 4 bar used. I'm going off of the estimate I posted earlier in this thread.

I am running E85 w/ 60lb injectors at a base f/p of 65psi and I make over 600 rwhp @ 92% duty cycle! I also have a twin pump set up with a -8 feed!

i assume then you are running an adjustable fpr? also, how much boost are you pushing?

I spoke with Nate at Nasty a few weeks back asking this exact same question.

Later this year I am wanting to do a single TC76 turbo, stock bottom end w/ E85.

Nate said that his stage 3 street kit w/ 60lb injectors would be fine. I would be running 8-10 psi. His kit does come with a regulator w/ boost reference.

might be getting the 60lb injectors and adding reg w/boost.
i'm trying to keep the cost to $500 so this setup herehttps://ls1tech.com/forums/6703927-post5.html might be the route I take.

You should just get the 79-80 # injectors for increases in boost. It will save you money in the long run.

Not much help but usefull knowledge, When I first converted to E-85, I only had 42's, I saw a duty cycle of 220% and an AFR of 14:1 at 6000+ rpm. I got no knock or KR with 18-20* of timing at wot.

wow, i had an AFR of high 13s, e85 is a lot more forgiving.

what size injectors are you running now?

Yes it is.
I currently have 79# injectors from racetronics. But I live at 5800 feet and require 20% less fuel than sea level. So far they work well, but I'm not sure what kind of duty cycle they are at. As long as the AFR is good I havn't checked.

Yes he is right if you plan on making big power with E85 a bigger injector over 60's will be required. I am only running on E85 while I'm on the stock bottom end because my compression is so high. After the engine is put in I will do E85 for a street tune and then a Q16 tune for the track and the 60's should be enough for near 800whp with Q16!
