Sweet! Did you ever get around to a failure test? I wonder if the OEM's use a lubricant or heat to assemble.

No formal testing. Just driving.

Great info here. Thanks guys. I got all the line I needed out of 93-94 Caddys. For me, my caulking gun wouldn't work for pressing the fittings in but I had great luck with my 20 ton shop press. It allowed me to have a free hand to help with alignment of the tube and fitting. I noticed that's the most critical part of the process. Get it off a bit and the tube kinks and it time to cut it off and try again.

I know this is an old thread... but a great one!

My first post here... curious if anyone has tried this tool for pressing the nylon line/fittings? May be stronger/better than the flimsy Dorman tool set?
$70 is not too bad either.

An addition to my post above...it had small pics... The K-tool looks to be all metal and much more heavy duty than the Dorman... hopefully someone here has used it and can comment.
Here is a better picture of the K-tool from the Summit Racing website ($77.97):

The tool is a KTI 75300. It appears more robust for bench work but not as portable as the Dorman tool for "fix it in place" type of repairs.

Just noticed another option from K-Tool international.
Here is a fuel line splicing tool... make-up your connections then connect them to your fuel line with this compact tool:

Check out this youtube video of a much more robust version of the Dorman tool:

Trying to find a source and if inexpensive will definitely purchase this one...

I used the clamp from my tubing flaring kit, and a caulking gun. Worked great, and I already owned it.
