Default Anyone ever weld on an LS1 stock fuel rail?

I did, I welded a steel -8 bung on so I could mount my regulator right off the rail. The only problem I had was a tiny seepage so I took it back off and was gonna reweld where it was leaking and put it back on. When I turned the key on this time it started leaking from the factory braze joint (looks like it was brazed anyway). I guess I put too much heat in it the second time.

Now I have reordered another bung and plan on doing it again, except this time I noticed that the stock rail has a little copper in it. I welded (TIG) it before with an ER70 rod but think this time I will weld it with a 309 rod.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Why not just use a Aeromotive 15118?

I have that fitting on the return line on the top of the fuel pump assembly.

What I'm asking about is for the return line, my FPR uses a -8 for the inlet. I'm running my regulator after the rail so the feed for the regulator is actually the return off the rail. I cut off the -4 test port, drilled it to match a -8 and welded on the -8 steel bung.
