Default Importance of flowmatching?

How important is flowmatching?

I am going to be using 42 lb green tops in my cammed car with wet shot.

I would rather know that all of my injectors match and work before I put them in because it takes out one variable in tuning and driveablity issues it they arise.

With a non DP wet shot, I'd rather get flow ratings, and put the 2 richest ones on the rear, where you are most likely to have a lean cylinder, and then have the other be equal.

Flow matching is important for tuning, as well as the reliability of your engine, out of the box injectors can fluctuate up to 6%, meaning a 42lb injector can be + or - 2.5 lb.

You can have a 44.5 lb injector in 1 cylinder, and a 39.5lb in the one next to it.

For nitrous applications like Black Sunshine(awesome song btw) was saying. We can make 6 flow matched perfectly, and 2 a hair bigger for the rear cylinders if you want. 6 flowmatched 42's and 2 43's or 44's if you like.

Ok ill get some flow matched ones, can you discuss the concept of having two a tad bit richer in the back? Should i really do this or not?

Nitrous can pool in the rear of the intake manifold making those cylinders get more than the others, can possibly causing a lean condition.

Its very rare tho, and only really a concern on a LARGE shot of nitrous.

i dont know that it is because of the nitrous pooling, because it also happens on the boosted cars, turbo and blower.

I think that it's more of an issue of the other cylnders getting all the air, and not as much by the time it gets back to 5-7 & 8.

Either way, getting extra fuel to at least 7 & 8, by going to a slightly larger injector, is sure good insurance, no matter what size shot you are running.

it's common for the back 2 cyls to run lean under nitrous or even boosted applications.

Running 38# injectors here, I did not get them flow matched but they were all flow tested.

Like stated, I then installed the 2 richest ones in cyl #7 and cyl #8.

No boost here - all N/A...maybe more of piece of mind, who knows, but at least the concept is sound.
