Default Too much fuel = studder?

Is it possible if your tune is off and you are running really rich for an LS1 to studder slightly because of too much fuel @ low rpm's?
thnx

When I installed my 36# injectors, before I got it tuned my A/F ratio was going off the charts in the rich direction. I didn't have any sort of studder or anything like that, just a noticable loss of power, and A LOT of smoke coming out of the exhaust.

A loose plug wire will cause it.

i ran rich for too long, and my plugs got fouled quickly
I was changing plugs every oil change, at 2.5-3k miles
I guess it was missing at low rpms, cause it "studdered" like hell
before i put the car up, i got 200 miles out of my plugs. But i was burning oil like crazy too, which really attributed to the plugs fouling up quick.

thanks guys, I will check it out tonight, got an SES on the way to work, car wasnt studdering like before when i broke a spring (praying that isnt the case again) I am thinking a loose wire on #8 or some fouled plug(s) cause i know it's running rich as hell, I usually get 250-300miles/tank but I am lucky to see 200 right now. I will post an update.

Absolutely it will, and the motor will shake at idle too, because the motor is running too rich.

It takes alot of fuel to cause a rich miss-fire but it does happen.

You will also get a studder if the car is running lean and only slightly lean.

My motor was running VERY rich I would foul out a set of plugs in about 500 miles, and once they would foul it would studder at low rpms pretty bad

I am having the exact same problem. My plugs fouled out in about 500 miles. I also am getting about 10 mpg in town.

I had a bad o2. My plugs never fouled out though. I think you may just need to replace your plugs. Can you tell if you have a misfire(this would diffently piont to plugs and/or wires)

Turned out to be a bad O2 sensor.
